Everyone thanks for all the postings yesterday! I only got 4 or5 in as I was in school all day. I did hear Holy's name over the radio, something about already sitting in his basement in his new chair. Congrats. I was going to stop in for the mystery word, but didn't know where the store was.

9:04 and the 8:00 song won't work. Aren't they supposed to be available for two hours?

Thanks to all for getting them for those of us who haven't been able to listen all the time

Anonymous said...

I totally agree - you bet me to the comment. I tried to put the 8 oclock one in at 9:15 and it said no longer available also. Whats up with that? Did they change the rules and forget to tell all of us. bah humbug

Anonymous said...

9 AM song was at 8:58, Leave, and worked just fine:-)

Cheers!

I love the Blues. I really enjoy this 9:00 o'clock slot Sunday mornings.

I don't think its too often that I miss it. For the Blues lovers out there, its too bad we don't hear more on the radio.

That's not a shot at KROCK, it just not played a whole lot anywhere. You hear SVR , David Wilcox and other Blues influenced bands but that's about it

Mr ABC said...

I wish they would still have the Sunday trivia on even though they are doing a points weekend.
They could always do it without points. I just enjoy listening to it.

While the Guess Who did have several hits in America, they were superstars in their home country of Canada during the 1960s and early '70s.

The roots of the Guess Who can be traced back to the late 1950s, when singer,(Allan Kowbell)led the group as "The Silvertones". The band played local gigs in and around the Winnipeg area and after a series of personnel changes, the band consisted of Kowbell, guitarist Randy Bachman, drummer Garry Peterson, bassist Jim Kale and keyboard player Bob Ashley.

Heavily influenced by British records, the boys wanted to take on a more 'English sounding name'. Emulating one of their favourites, 'The Shadows', they settled on 'The Reflections'. Kowbell, as the front man and lead singer, also felt the need to change his name. As a long time fan of 'The Chad Mitchell Trio', he stuck 'Chad' in front of his real first name, and the band became 'Chad Allan and The Reflections'.

Before or after he changed his name?

Mr ABC said...

@Veggiemom

Glad to see you back!!!

Mr ABC said...

@Veggiemom

Tha's where I got the answer. They say Giorgio G never had a signed contract with the Stones

Anonymous said...

@ i've been posting as anon still, that guy freaked me out last weekend. can you imagine being the guy who didn't sign a contract with THE STONES????

Little Erky Perky said...

The Rolling Stones thereafter commandeered an eight-month residency at the Crawdaddy Club, where they attracted a following of fans and fellow musicians. By that time, the group’s final lineup had been set, with founding members Jagger, Richards and Jones augmented by drummer Charlie Watts (a Blues Incorporated alumnus) and bassist Bill Wyman. They also took on a young manager-producer, Andrew Loog Oldham, who saw in the Stones a chance to exploit “the opposite to what the Beatles are doing

Tune On
Tune In

The next 2 words are the bonus code..

Had to Google it way befor emy time, I wasn't even born yet!!!

Leary later explained in his 1983 autobiography Flashbacks:

"'Turn on' meant go within to activate your neural and genetic equipment. Become sensitive to the many and various levels of consciousness and the specific triggers that engage them. Drugs were one way to accomplish this end. 'Tune in' meant interact harmoniously with the world around you - externalize, materialize, express your new internal perspectives. Drop out suggested an elective, selective, graceful process of detachment from involuntary or unconscious commitments. 'Drop Out' meant self-reliance, a discovery of one's singularity, a commitment to mobility, choice, and change. Unhappily my explanations of this sequence of personal development were often misinterpreted to mean 'Get stoned and abandon all constructive activity.'"

the easiest way to find a song you don't know is this

leave a google window open with tragically hip lyrics in the search box

when the song comes on listen for a run of three or four words from it then add it at the end, hit search and bingo, you have the song
